A Day for the Dunes
9/28/19

On Saturday, September 28th, from 9 am to 11 am the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station, Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, and Dune Doctors hosted A Day for the Dunes. NBMSS student-teachers and Dune Doctors’ coastal restoration experts teamed up with Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center and other local organizations to present stations and activities on the importance of preserving our marine and coastal environments. Attendees also had the opportunity to partake in Planting for Protection where participants planted sea oats on the dunes, a beach cleanup, and educational programs. Preserving and protecting our coastal ecosystems is crucial for the health or our community. Thank you to all that came out and made this event a spectacular success and for being amabassadors for the environment!
